  • How AI and Science Can Be Harnessed to Recover Sri Lanka from the Crisis.
 
1.General Guidelines
•⁠  ⁠The report must be an in depth analysis focusing on a specific crisis in Sri Lanka (economic, environmental, social, or technological) and detail how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and scientific innovation can provide a sustainable, practical solution.
•⁠  ⁠Participation is open to individual students or teams of 3 members from the Grade 6-13 Students.
Any number of participants from a school may participate.
•⁠  ⁠All data, statistics, and figures used must be accurate, up to date, and cited from reliable sources.
•⁠  ⁠Plagiarism or using false information will result in immediate disqualification.
•⁠  ⁠The report should be written in English.
 
2.Report Format and Specifications
•⁠  ⁠Length: The report must be between 2,000 and 2,500 words.
•⁠  ⁠Font: Times New Roman, size 12 (For paragraphs).
•⁠  ⁠Submission: The final report must be submitted as a single PDF file.
 
3.Report Structure (Mandatory Components)
The report must adhere to the following structure:
 
•⁠  ⁠Title Page: Includes the Report Title, Participant Name(s), and Grade/School.
•⁠  ⁠Abstract (Maximum 250 words): A concise summary of the entire report, including the crisis identified, the proposed solution, and the key findings.
•⁠  ⁠Introduction: Clearly state the background of the crisis being addressed in Sri Lanka, the report’s objective, and its scope.
•⁠  ⁠Literature Review: Review existing academic research and national data related to the crisis and the proposed scientific/AI applications.
•⁠  ⁠Proposed Solution (AI & Science): Detailed explanation of the proposed AI and/or scientific solution. Should portray evidence of its feasibility and practical application in a Sri Lankan context.
•⁠  ⁠Impact Analysis: Thorough discussion of the potential economic, social, ethical, and environmental impacts of implementing the proposed solution.
•⁠  ⁠Conclusion and Recommendations: Summarize the main findings and provide clear, actionable recommendations for national recovery and sustainable development.
  • Acknowledgement: You should always credit those who assisted you (including individuals & institutions).
  • Reference list: Should consist of a list of journal articles, books, websites and other sources referred to obtain information for the report. 
 
4.Judging Criteria
Reports will be evaluated based on the following:
•⁠  ⁠Depth of Research: Thoroughness and reliability of data and literature used.
•⁠  ⁠Analytical Rigor: Quality of analysis and logical presentation of arguments.
•⁠  ⁠Innovation and Practicality: Creativity of the proposed solution and its real-world feasibility in Sri Lanka.
•⁠  ⁠Structure and Clarity: Adherence to the required format, clarity of writing, and academic tone.
•⁠  ⁠Technical Accuracy: Correct use of scientific and AI concepts.
 
5.Submission & Deadlines Action
•⁠  ⁠Deadline Date:  15th December, 2025.        
•⁠  ⁠Late submissions will not be accepted.
•⁠  ⁠The winning report will be announced during Science Day
